You officially graduate on the graduation date of the semester in which you have fulfilled degree requirements. You walk across a stage in a ceremony. Those two may not take place at the same time. You may participate in the main graduation ceremony a semester after you graduate (for example, summer graduates walk in the fall graduation ceremony because there is no summer graduation ceremony). 

Also, all graduates are allowed to delay their participation in the main university ceremony by one semester. For instance, if you graduate in the Spring, you can delay your participation until the Fall. To do this, you just need to email the ETD Reviewer (ETD-Reviewer@ncsu.edu) to make this request. 

You must have fulfilled all degree requirements to participate in a main university ceremony.
